trilho/trail da águia do sarilhão || gerês

I'm not much of a trekker. I'm a homesy girl, afraid of heights, who likes hanging out with Netflix and cooking and staying in the city. So obviously, I had to go and fall in love with a girl who, despite also loving the couch times and the foodie endeavors, has an adventurous spirit and enjoys being outside, trailing through Nature as a vacation time.

M dragged me out for a trail with her (and her awesome parents) for the first time in my life and I have to say: I loved it. It's such an incredible feeling, to know that you've walked for hours, gone through almost ten kilometers of pure nature and beauty. There's a sense of accomplishment, there, that I hadn't felt in a while, and that a part of me is craving again. I have the feeling that this isn't the last trail I'm ever going to do. And that I might even be okay with doing them more regularly.

Gerês is amazing. I knew that already. But seeing it like this, feeling like you're an adventurer on a sacred mission, is the best. Of course, city girl that I am, I had all the wrong gear: oxford shoes, no socks and no backpack (M and I carried hers in turns), but I had my camera, so I was a happy girl. When my feet blistered from the walking in leather shoes, M's mom gave me a band-aid and I moved on. And I took so, so many pictures that I am now in love with, including the expansion that I'll post last!

If you'd like more info on the trail, you can check it out here
